What
Praetox Image Database (pImgDB for short) is, as the name suggests, an image database. It will (hopefully) simplify sorting and organizing to a level where it'll become a breeze. I believe adding, editing and exporting images will be much simpler and efficient by using a tool specifically designed for the job (instead of danbooru or the likes). I won't claim that it incorporates a cutting-edge features list, but I listen to each and every suggestion.
Why
I got the idea when I first saw /w/458428 (archived at 110mb and 4cArchive). I realized that I'm not the only one with complete chaos in my folders, and I saw this as an opportunity to pay anon back for all the brilliant wallpapers I've aquired over the years.
How
pImgDB will be heavily based on tags. Whether you're searching for a specific picture, or simply browsing through your collection, you'll find that everything becomes much easier with a good tag-based system. I used to say it was much like danbooru, but I'm not so sure if that's 100% correct - I daresay that things will be a bit better with an offline tool.
Furthermore, what I said about suggestions is very relevant. In fact, I have not ignored a single suggestion until now - all of them are on my todo list. I'll dedicate a separate section of my forum to pImgDB, mostly for the sake of support and suggestions. If you feel like contributing somehow, please do.
When
There is no set date for the final release, mostly due to hectic real life business. I was hoping to have a (public?) beta ready in a few days, but it might be somewhat delayed. I'll try to keep the progress report up-to-date, so you'll know what's going on.
